This article was origninally published in an old blog I ran as a child. I would have been 14 at when I wrote this.
this article will talk about the top, in my opinion, fan made productions done this year. (not including stuff by us though) note- all productions are good and this article is not ordered from best to worst.

DOCTOR PUPPET- EPISODE 8- THE TWELFTH PLANET by doctor puppet
This is the reason why I am doing this. Doctor Puppet is brilliant! This is first because it had probably the most effort done due to it being done in stop-motion. I remember when this was released that this was quiet cinematic. This was because of the music. I like how the story linked the whole series up. I don’t understand how the psychic message got all the doctors there though but I think its best to not criticise that bit due limitations of no dialogue from the characters and the stop-motion (meaning it would take ages to do that explanation). this is one of the best fan made stuff to exist and the good thing about it is that (like with Gerry Anderson shows) it would never become unrealistic visually. The visual and special effects take a cartoon like approach.
Good sontaran by walrus is in the matrix
Also had a an influence on this review. I wanted to see this first before doing the review. The main negative factor about this is that it doesn’t have any speech which makes it difficult to understand the plot and as a result is quiet difficult to analyse. I do understand and respect why there isn’t any dialogue though. The animations are quiet good. A highlight is the realistic body movement and also, which is important for it to look realistic, is that it looks solid. The Rutans are well done as they have a dangerous feel to them.
Dalek Tales- the Experiment by lee adams
Dalek tales is quiet well done. The thing about it that is great is that it feels like apart of the show, not just a fan film with music by Murray Gold added to it on editing. With part one the CGI isn’t the most impressive as it is quiet similar to the first one, ‘the dalek that time forgot’ though without all lens flares. With part two I was very impressed by Absalom Daak. The Dalek voices are good. I also like the appearance of the dalek time strategist, though the one in big finish is purple and the one in this is blue and the there isn’t the plasma ball inside it.
Doctor Who Fan Film- The Fall of the Doctor by Dw2012
Production wise this live action fan film is amazing. The VFX and compositing are extremely good for a fan production. The costumes are also good. My criticism on this is that the story is not very original. Its like a mixture of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and Avenger: Infinity War. It tries to be a blockbuster movie, and not something creative. Despite this unoriginality, a professional company, like Disney, would have probably done it. They (professional companies) like to reuse ideas that work. I also realised that the doctor and scarlet where on mars without a space suite to keep them warm. The doctor’s mortal in this and he would have frozen to death.
